Did you know that June is Workplace Giving Month?
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the many thousands of Australians who support the RSPCA regularly by making a contribution directly from their salary.
We'd also like to thank the businesses and organisations that help make this happen - many of which make separate donations as well or match their employees' contributions.
Workplace giving is really important to the RSPCA, and helps us continue our work to care for and protect animals in need.
But regular giving like this can benefit you too!
Here are five reasons why workplace giving might be a good idea for you or your organisation:
1. It’s pre-tax so your donation goes further
Workplace Giving donations are made from your pre-tax pay, meaning your taxable income is then reduced, making Workplace Giving one of the simplest and most effective ways to support the RSPCA. Because donations are made pre-tax, this means that a $20 donation pre-tax really only costs you $13.70, but the RSPCA receives the full $20 (assuming a marginal tax rate of 32.5%).
2. It’s a team effort between you and your employer
By facilitating Workplace Giving, your employer is clearly community minded and committed to supporting the work of the RSPCA. Some employers even choose to match their employee’s donations so that your combined efforts can make an even bigger impact. It’s a wonderful way to indicate that your whole organisation is committed to animal welfare.
3. It couldn’t be simpler!
Whether you’re an employer or an employee, workplace giving could not be simpler. All modern payroll systems can accommodate workplace giving, and all you have to do is let your employer know you want to donate regularly to RSPCA.
4. It helps animals in need
By donating via Workplace Giving, you are providing regular and reliable income for the RSPCA. This dependable form of income makes a real and lasting impact on the work that RSPCA do and helps to ensure we can continue to provide vital animal welfare services for all creatures great and small.
5. Connect with your local RSPCA shelter
We love talking to our Workplace Giving Partners and encourage employees to engage directly with their local shelter where they can explore opportunities for further involvement, such as events, fundraising and volunteering activities.
